Zac Brown was recently giving an interview and was asked about the state of country music.
He said that some songs made made him want to throw up. He said that Luke’s new song That’s My Kind Of Night was the worst song he’s ever heard.
He said all the tailgates in the moonlight songs made him want to throw up.
I’m a fan of Zac Brown. He’s had some great songs out the last few years. He puts on a great show.
But in honor of Zac’s comments we’re going to have a little fun.
Here are the top 10 Zac Brown songs that make you want to throw up.
Lakes, lawn chairs and beer. Three of country’s favorite topics. I love them. Other people must too since country songs frequently have these images as lyrics.
9. Knee Deep
More islands. Zac was a little late to the Buffett, Eddy Raven, Kenny, Alan and Toby part.
8. Sic ‘Em On A Chicken
Dogs, booze and fried chicken. Come on, man.
7. Jump Right In
Seriously? More islands?
6. Island Song
Come. On. Any more songs about beer and sand and I’m going to…throw up.
5. Natural Disaster
Ohh… A song about a preacher’s daughter. First time we’ve ever heard that one.
4. Where The Boat Leaves From
Wait… We’re still talking about islands, boats and the ocean?
3. Whiskey’s Gone
Here’s an original for you. It’s about a guy cheating, a woman leaving and drinking whiskey in a bar…
2. Keep Me In Mind
I love Steve Winwood. Zac must love that sound too.
1. Chicken Fried
If I hear one more song about beer I’m going to throw up…
Actually I probably won’t because this is a great song.
The point here is not that any of Zac’s songs will make you want to throw up.
Country music is about a lot of things. Sometimes we all fee a little down and it helps to hear a sad song.
Sometimes we’re driving in our car on the way home and we hear a song about family and it makes us smile and appreciate our own.
There are times when working all day gets us down and it gives us three minutes of escape to hear a song about the islands.
And sometimes we just want to hear a song with a good beat that makes us want to dance and laugh.
That’s what Luke Bryan’s song and so many others are about. The lyrics don’t always have to be poetry. It’s about the different emotions we all feel in life and sometimes we just want a song that makes us want to move around and have fun.
And when that’s over we’ll probably want to hear a song about hangovers in the morning.
