So I got faked out a little bit by the Brothers Osborne. I thought they were coming out with Loving Me Back as their next single. That’s more of a classic country song that I really liked. And they even brought on Lee Ann Womack to help with the harmonies.
But we’ll have to wait for that one on radio because the next single will be 21 Summer. And it’s still a good one.
21 Summer – Brothers Osborne
This one definitely sounds like it’s made for country radio. And I mean that in a good way. I know that some say that a song is radio-friendly with the meaning that it’s too pop or too whatever. But I like country radio and when a song sounds like it should be on the radio I usually like it.
This one is pretty cool. I think there is an element of Jimmy Buffett in there. Maybe not his complete island feel, but his kind of laid back style.
The song is about a guy that’s looking back on that former summer love. He’s thinking about the girl he was with, the music that was playing, and all the feelings he had. It’s a time in his life that really had an impact. He doesn’t think about it all the time, but from time to time.
We all have those memories from our past that make us feel good. For whatever reason the circumstances changed and we moved on, but we all seem to think back to a time when life was good. It doesn’t mean that we don’t love our lives now. It’s just kind of how we all are.
This is a good one. I think it sounds like a hit.
