I’m really liking this country from down in Texas. I didn’t really hear a lot of it growing, but without really knowing it two of my favorite artists, Doug Supernaw and Pat Green came from the Texas country music scene. I don’t really know what Pat Green is up to these days. I listened to his albums over and over many times.
But anyway, we have a big hit down there in Texas from Cameran Nelson. I haven’t heard his music before so you’ll have to fill me in, but I’m liking what I’m hearing on this track. Give it a listen and share your thoughts in the comments.
35 Runs Both Ways – Cameran Nelson
When I first heard the song I thought it might be a cool title for a cool song about turning 35, but it’s obviously about a highway; probably one down there in Texas. The song is about a woman that’s left. She’s been long gone and the guy is still hoping that she comes back because the road runs both ways. She rode it out of town and he’s hoping she can ride it back into town again one day.
You hate to bring a guy down, but usually in these situations the woman is not coming back. That’s just kind of how it works out with these things. The guy and the girl just weren’t meant to be. It could have been for whatever reason. Maybe she wanted to change him and since people don’t really change she became frustrated.
But maybe that girl will find that road back into town one day. You can always hope and you never know.
Great country song here and one I’ve listened to a few times now.
