When Alison Krauss released new music people pay attention.
The bluegrass queen has a new song with her backing band Union Station. The singer with the beautiful appearance the beautiful voice of an angel is back with Paper Airplane – a soft ballad about love and heartbreak.
The new track sounds like a classic Alison Krauss and Union Station song. Paper Airplane has the soft yet soaring vocals of Alison backed by the expert bluegrass music of Union Station including Dan Tyminski. It’s exquisit and something Alison’s fans will greatly appreciate. I read on the comments from the video that it’s been seven years since Alison and her band released an album together. That’s a long time to wait for your favorite artists.
Paper Airplane is about a love that’s fighting to hang on to the last gasp of breath. Things are over for the couple. Alison plays the narrator. She gets through the moments each day fighting to move on, struggling with the loneliness and the pain. The feeling of wasted time finally gone for good. There is nothing left to hold on to.
It’s a great song. Paper Airplane is another great accomplishment for Alison and the band. It’s a great track that should get plenty of attention in the bluegrass circles. I’m sure if there is an accompanying video it will see big time play on CMT as well. They have always received Alison’s songs well.
Alison Krauss may not put out songs that chart high on the country charts, but her songs are always well received by her fans. Her albums sell well and so do her concerts. Paper Airplane should be a great addition to her already sterling collection of songs.
