Wanna Make You Love Me – Andy Gibson
The song [easyazon-link asin=”B005JKU6UA”]Wanna Make You Love Me[/easyazon-link] has this really cool pop. rock, and country groove. It’s a little bit ’80s smooth with a mix of modern country. Andy Gibson has this laid back approach to his vocals. There is emotion in his voice. It would be easy for him to sound like a lot of other new male artists that come out, but there is a quality there that makes him stand out. It’s unique.
It’s a great song. [easyazon-link asin=”B005JKU6UA”]Wanna Make You Love Me[/easyazon-link] is about a man wanting to do whatever it takes to convince this woman that he’s right for her. He wants to commit himself to doing all the things she needs – a ring, devotion, and complete commitment. He wants to make her number one in his life and show her she’s the most important thing.
It’s a great song with plenty of emotion in the performance. The song is a little on the slow side, but it works with the lyrics. This is the kind of song you put on when you’re alone with your girl. If you can’t say the words yourself you let expert songsmiths like Andy Gibson do the writing.
Wanna Make You Love Me is a great introduction to a new singer. It’s romantic. It’s got a mid-tempo groove that kind of lulls you into singing along with the chorus after the first listen. It’s a great track and one I think could crack the top 40 on the charts and give country fans the first introduction to a promising new artist.
Intro to Andy Gibson
You probably haven’t heard of Andy Gibson at this point. A few years ago he was a struggling singer and songwriter in Nashville. One night Andy was performing and country star John Rich noticed him and signed Andy to his songwriting company.
On a side note, John Rich has signed some budding country artists to this writing company in the last few years. I’m not sure how John can find these folks, but there is some really good music coming from his crew lately and it should be recognized.
Anyway, Andy says he wrote about 150 songs the first year he worked for Rich. One of those songs – yes, that’s not a very good rate of success, but sometimes it just takes one…one of those songs was [easyazon-link asin=”B004808KW8″]Don’t You Wanna Stay[/easyazon-link] later made famous by Jason Aldean and Kelly Clarkson. The song was co-written with one of my other favorite artists, Jason Sellers.
The song became a huge smash. It further established Sellers as one of country’s biggest songwriters and introduced more people to Andy Gibson. Now Gibson is out to prove his worth as a singer and his first offering – [easyazon-link asin=”B005JKU6UA”]Wanna Make You Love Me[/easyazon-link] – should do a fine job of getting some attention for the new singer.
If you like artists like Billy Currington, Jason Michael Carroll, and perhaps Steve Wariner I think you’ll like Andy Gibson.
Chart Estimate: #40
