Billy Currington got off to his start in country music in 2003. The release of his first single Walk A Little Straighter gained notice among country music fans as well as those in the music industry. After one more top ten single from his debut album, Currington released his sophomore album. Doin’ Somethin’ Right was a platinum success. The title track made Currington a sex symbol and a favorite of the female fans in country music. As a former trainer, Currington had the physical attributes to look the part in the video for the sexy single. The first and second singles pushed the album to gold status, but it was the tongue-in-cheek single Good Directions that pushed the album to platinum. The single was a #1 smash and was responsible for selling hundreds of thousands of records.
