It seems like Blake Shelton has been struggling to breakthrough since his debut album arrived in 2001.

It’s hard to imagine a bigger debut than Shelton’s first single, Austin. The song arrived on the country charts and instantly went to #1 and stayed there for a remarkable five straight weeks.

Even with the success of his first single, Shelton struggled to string together back to back top hits for a couple albums.

Shelton would have one or two big hits off each of his first few albums, but other releases were less successful.

However, over the course of a decade, Shelton has racked up a quality collection of hits and has enough gold albums to fill up an office wall.

His singles are finding the top of the charts on a regular basis and the Oklahoma native seems to be settling into his roll as a balladeer and tongue-in-cheek country artist.
