Beginning in 2004, Carrie Underwood rose up from obscurity as an American Idol contestant to become one of the most successful country music artists of all time.
Nearly all of Underwood’s country single releases have reached number one. Her albums have sold millions upon millions of copies around the world, and she’s one of the most respected and genuinely nice people around.
Carrie Underwood has also won two ACM Entertainer of the Year awards. She is the only female in country music history to accomplish this feat.
After the success of her first album, Some Hearts, Underwood became more involved on her second record by co-writing many of the songs. Many feel that the quality of her work continues to improve as she writes more of her own material.
Carrie Underwood is in uncharted territory in the country music world. It’ll be great to see how far she can set the bar that she’s already set at the new, established level for all country artists.
