Chris Young

Chris YoungBio

Chris Young sounded like a throwback country singer when he first came to national prominence on the popular show Nashville Star. The viewers eventually voted the young singer as the winner of the show and stardom seemed like an easy thing. Chris’ first album was released, but the single failed to make significant headway on the country singles charts. The album sold well initially on the strength of Chris’ performance on the show, but the lack of radio play left Chris at a make or break moment.

It took 3 more years for Chris to release his second album, but it was well worth the wait. After the great song Voices barely cracked the top forty before fading away, Chris released Gettin’ You Home (The Black Dress Song). The catchy tune became a huge hit and Chris’ first number one song. The tune was a fun love song. The lyrics get a little racy, but the delivery of the song made it romantic. The next single release was the title track to the second album The Man I Want To Be, which went on to become Chris’ second number one in a row. The award show winner had finally broken through three years after his victory.

Maybe it took a little time for country fans to warm up to Chris’ pure country vocals, but I’m sure it was worth the wait. Lots of fans are excited about the music this kid will make in the future.
