It took a couple years and lots of hard work, but in 2003 Army Veteran Craig Morgan a top ten hit with Almost Home. The song made people take notice of Craig. The song told the story of a homeless man thinking about his way to the afterlife. Craig sang the vocals with his distinct country style and his career began to rise.
Craig’s next album – released on the independent Broken Bow Records label – was My Kind of Livin’. The three singles off the became huge successes on the chart and Craig became a star. The album went gold on the strength of the first single That’s What I Love About Sunday. The song was the most-played country song of 2005. Redneck Yacht Club and I Got You followed as hits and Craig was beginning to see his hard work and perseverance in country music pay off.
Most people quit just as they’re about to succeed. Craig Morgan is now a hit-making factory. He has recently switched record labels for the third time. Now with BNA, he continues to reach the top ten with regularity.
