David Lee Murphy
Bio
In 1994, David Lee Murphy emerged on the country music scene just as the name of his debut album described Out With A Bang. Murphy came on the scene just as country music was being taken over by guys with hats and three names. Murphy fit right in and hat the foot stomping hits to fit the bill as well.
After a couple singles failed to make significant impact on the charts, Murphy’s label released the single Party Crowd. The song shot straight to the top ten and became one of the most played songs of 1995. To follow it up, Dust On The Bottle was released. The song became David Lee’s signature song. Dust On The Bottle is still played frequently on the radio and you can usually hear it on the speakers at cook outs or hanging out in the garage with the guys.
Murphy released a few more albums with a few successful singles including 2004′s top five hit Loco.
Today, David Lee makes a name for himself as a successful songwriter rather than a performer. He’s written big hits for Kenny Chesney (Living In Fast Forward), Jason Aldean (Big Green Tractor), Gary Allan (A Feeling Like That), and many other singles and album cuts.
David Lee Murphy has left his mark on country music over his career. Look for more great songs coming from one of the most successful songwriters in Nashville history.
