Bio
Born the son of a legend in country music, Hank Williams Jr. had to fight his entire life to come out from behind his father’s shadow. For much of his early life he was traveling the country performing as the reincarnation of his dad. Fans still yearned for the music of Hank Williams Sr. and Jr. was as close as they could get.
Finally in the late ’70s, after a skiing accident that nearly killed him, Hank Jr. emerged as a country music legend in his own right. With the release of Family Tradition, Hank finally formed his own niche in the genre he grew up loving. He found himself with an audience ready to rock to his breed of country. Throughout the ’80s Hank was a popular draw in concert as he won numerous awards as entertainer of the year. His songs and albums were reaching the top of the charts and his influence was evident on the world.
By the end of the decade Hank Jr. landed one of the greatest jobs in the world – writing and performing the weekly intro song for Monday Night Football. Now over 20 years later, a generation has grown up on Hank Jr.
He’s still active today as he continues gaining fans and recognition as new audiences discover his legendary collection of songs.
