In the 1990s, Tracy Lawrence had a successful run of hit singles and albums.
Despite the occasional personal incident including being shot by a burglar in a robbery, Lawrence was able to capture a large audience of country music fans with his traditional style and unique vocals. His run of hits began in 1991 with the album Sticks & Stones and continued with even bigger hits with Alibis and Time Marches On.
As the nineties came to a close, label changes at the executive level forced Lawrence to be bounced around a bit as he struggled to find hits on the radio. Album sales slowed and momentum was lost.
In 2006, Lawrence started his own record label and released Find Out Who Your Friends Are. The track had two versions – one with Lawrence’s vocals only and one with the help of Tim McGraw and Kenny Chesney. The track with all three singles received strong radio play and the song eventually reached number one on the country charts.
Today, Tracy Lawrence continues to tour and release music.
