We haven’t looked at a song from The Lacs in a while. But I’m always curious what’s going on with Average Joes Entertainment and their sister label, Backroad. The Lacs are part of the latter and they’ve been putting out some solid albums and songs for quite a few years now.
You know…the more I listen to music from the folks at Average Joes the more I think that it’s – in certain ways – more country than the music on country radio.
Maybe that’s just me.
Back To Georgia – The Lacs
This one is just about getting back home, which in this case is Georgia. The song seems to have some autobiographical elements for the guys in The Lacs. They’re out on the road most of the year it looks like living their dream. And I’m sure they love that life, but even if you love it you’ll always have those times when you’re ready to head back home and enjoy some good times back at home.
I like the groove on this one. It’s not rowdy or slow. It’s right in the middle. It’s the kind of song you would probably play if you were driving on a long trip as you’re heading back home. You got the window open and you’re just cruising back home to family and friends with a smile on your face.
Craig Campbell lends his voice on this one and does a great job on the chorus. Pretty cool song from The Lacs. I like it.
