Behind The Scenes with Trace Adkins
Country star Trace Adkins is busy these days.
Trace Adkins is release a new album and preparing for a new movie. It’s an exciting time for the country superstar. The album will be the Trace’s first release on Toby Keith‘s record label Showdog-Universal. Since joining Showdog-Universal Trace Adkins has been hitting the road building anticipation for the new album Cowboy’s Back In Town with Toby Keith.
The first single from the album is This Ain’t No Love Song and it’s climbing the charts fast. It’s already in the top ten on the country singles charts and is heading for higher marks.
Trace’s label sent out a press release. Here are some snippets:
The album is vintage Trace Adkins, with songs ranging from those celebrating love, like the tender “Still Love You,” to those showcasing the rowdy side of country living, like the hilarious “Hold My Beer.” Adkins is at the top of his game vocally, and the album shows him re-emerging as a top-flight songwriter, as he penned the title track, “Cowboy’s Back In Town,” with friends Jeff Bates and Kenny Beard, who co-produced along with Michael Knox (Jason Aldean). He is joined by special guests Trailer Choir, whose cool-as-a-breeze vocals add the perfect touch to “Don’t Mind If I Don’t,” a song celebrating love as the perfect excuse to take it easy.
“There’s an excitement surrounding this whole new chapter in our lives,” says Adkins, “and it’s reflected in the work I’ve done on this record. The musicians I brought together are long-time friends, and it doesn’t get much better than that. I had a great time making it, I’m in a great spot creatively, and I think all that shows in the way it sounds.”

The energy appears to be finding it’s way into Trace’s career right now as well. After changing labels he seems more excited than usual about this upcoming release. If the album is like his previous efforts it’s a sure bet that it will be full of great guys songs as well having some ballads that slow life down for some emotional thinking.
Hardcore Trace Adkins fans will love this new album and even casual country fans – both men and women – will like it too. It’s not a stretch to say that a Trace Adkins album will be good. He’s been releasing great music for more than a decade and with millions of albums sold he knows what his audience likes.
For an extra peek inside the making of Trace’s new video check out this behind the scenes clip. Trace explains the meaning of the video and the song. Even though the guy is trying to act tough he and the girl both know that he’s vulnerable and showing his feelings.
There is also a neat moment when Trace shares what Toby Keith said about the new album. You’ll have to watch to find out what that was…
