A modern day love story?
Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert have a…something of a quirky relationship. I heard on the local radio station here that it was actually Blake that really brought out the funny side in Miranda. And Blake as most of his fans know has a little bit of a different sense of humor. He’s brash and doesn’t hold back when it comes to the real way he feels.
With all of that in their background the young couple got together for another duet on Blake’s last six pack album. The song is certainly fun and it’s unlike any love song you’ve probably heard before.
Draggin’ The River is the tale of a young couple in love. The gal’s daddy is none too happy with the affair. It seems that the guy in the song – in this case Blake – is maybe not the ideal candidate for the daughter. Let’s just say this is an issue for the young couple.
As a result the two lovers devise a master plan only the countriest of country minds could come up with. The plan is to toss their truck over the local bridge and make steal away in the night. When the town’s folk find the truck they’ll be Draggin’ The River in search of the two young kids, but they’ll never find ’em.
How romantic is that?
Ok maybe it’s not the love story you’ve heard before, but it’s kind of sweet in its own country way. I don’t think Draggin’ The River will be a single, but I bet it’ll be popular with a few young couples out there.
