Every once in a while I need to make my way over to the Texas Music Chart to see what’s going on. You’ll always find some really good country songs. And they’re usually more traditional than the songs you’ll get on the Nashville radio.
I like both, but sometimes I need that traditional sounding fix.
It looks like Curtis Grimes is having some big success in Texas with his latest single. We’ve had Curtis here on the blog in the past and he’s always ready with a good song including this one.
Bottom Of The Fifth – Curtis Grimes
So the hook on this one is that sometimes you just blow it in life. The song starts out with the guy kind of blowing it in the tee ball game in the bottom of the fifth. That’s a lesson that a lot of kids learn; or at least the ones that try sports and competition.
It’s definitely not fun to be the one that blows the game. It’s more fun to hit the big winning homer or to make the last basket or to make the pass, but it usually doesn’t work out that way. I guess we go through those things in life to learn that we need to keep on trying and trying.
This is just kind of a fun song with a real outlook on life. It’s nothing too serious, but it is fun and it has a good melody. And it’s something that just about everybody can relate to. I like this one.
