It’s a challenge for new country artists to maintain momentum. David Nail was around Nashville in his early twenties and had a top 50 hit, but after that he lost his deal until he found another one a few years later. Then he had a couple big hits, but nothing back to back really.
But now he’s starting to build some momentum I think and this next single is a really good one. Check it out.
Broke My Heart – David Nail
It’s got that sound that David Nail has been building over his career. The closest artist I can think of to David is probably Vince Gill. They both have that blues and soul sound that you really don’t get from other artists.
I think the hook of the song is about a guy that loves this women. I think she broke his heart and he’s still thinking back to the days when they were together. Those were good days for him and he thinks they were good for her as well.
But along the way she broke his heart and he’s thinking that maybe that would have been worth it even if they could go through it all again.
David has a knack for finding really good story songs. He cuts down to the emotions of love and love and he’s only getting better with each release.
And the big thing he has going for him is that his style isn’t like anyone else in country music. He’s a real talent.
