One of my favorite songs from earlier this spring was My Mistake by Cam. It took me a while to figure out who the singer was. It was really a song that stood out as something different on the radio. Right from the first note you just kind of had to pay attention and listen.
Well now it looks like we have a followup song to that one and I’m excited to listen for the first time.
Burning House – Cam
I wasn’t sure what to expect with this song. Would it be My Mistake Part 2. That turned out not to be the case. It’s something different entirely.
It’s different, but it’s also great and in a totally different way that My Mistake.
You get the sense this one will be different with the 30 second intro. Then the song is really just Cam singing a very emotional lyric with just a little accompaniment. There is not much going on with this song in the background and that puts a lot of pressure on Cam, but it also lets her skill really shine through.
I don’t know what it is about this artist, but she makes me stop and pay attention. And I haven’t even really seen a video of her yet. I’ve just heard her on the radio and through these lyric videos.
It’s impressive stuff.
The lyrics are a little vague…to me at least. Something has obviously happened to two former lovers. They’re not together now and I can’t really tell who made the mistake or why, but that’s not important.
It’s driving the one person crazy and that’s what’s interesting about it.
Great song. I would love to hear your thoughts in the comments.
