I give these girls a lot of respect. They keep going for their first breakthrough hit and I think they will eventually find their big break. Here is their latest offering – Love A Little Bigger. At first the title threw me off as if it was the old Diamond Rio song Love A Little Stronger, but this is truly another good country song.
Love A Little Bigger – Carter’s Chord
This song is meant to make you think. There is a lot going on in the world and sometimes it makes our problems seem so irrelevant. The women of Carter’s Chord are obviously taking this into consideration. Maybe it’s them taking a look at their own struggles to make it big in the country world and realizing it’s not the end of the world if it doesn’t happen.
Maybe that’s just the thing they need to make their break happen.
That’s assumption of course, but the song does make you think nonetheless. It’s a good song. The melody is good. It fits the song, but there is still a catchy element to it. I think that’s important. The vocals are solid. The girls have a unique sound. They aren’t your typical country girl group. They seem to have real emotion and passion behind each lyric.
Love A Little Bigger has big ambition. I think the song pulls off its intent just fine. Carter’s Chord does a great job with it. I’m not sure if it will become a huge hit on the charts, but I do feel like this song will have a big impact in some people’s lives. That’s what really matters in the grand scheme of things. If you can make a difference to even one person then the hard work all becomes worth it.
The country world needs the next Dixie Chicks. I’m not sure if Carter’s Chord is ready to fill those shoes, but it took the Dixie Chicks a few albums to finally find their big break. Maybe that’s what’s happening for CC.
What do you think of the new song?
