We’re taking another trip through CMT Edge.
This time it’s a new song and video from The Grahams. As it usual with CMT Edge, this is the first time I’ve heard of The Grahams. It’s always wonderful to discover how little I know about amazing artists. There is always something new to find on this blog. It’s one of my favorites.
Here are my thoughts on the song.
Cathedral Pines – The Grahams
From what I can tell this is a road song. It’s about a journey the singer goes on and all the things that comes across in the life when you’re on the journey. The lyrics are interesting and they really pull you in.
But what really makes this song is the feel of the music. It sounds like this song should be playing on a jukebox in some nearly empty country bar in the 1960s. I love the song. It has a really cool old country vibe to it. The leader singer’s voice is kind of haunting while also being totally in tune with traditional country music.
This is my kind of country music. It has an old soul. There is feeling. It tells a story. There are depths and layers to the song. You have to listen to it a few times to pick up on everything and even then I’m not sure it’s possible to pick up on everything.
Give it another listen and share your thoughts.
