I wasn’t sure how Song Number 7 would do as a single for Randy Houser. It’s certainly a good song, but something about it just seemed a little off for country radio. It looks like the single only peaked around #40 on the charts. Now it looks like Randy and his label are moving on to a new single. There’s nothing wrong with that especially when you have an album full of good songs.
Here is the next one…
Chasing Down A Good Time – Randy Houser
This one fits right in with Randy’s style. The song kind of has it’s subdued moments and then it has those big chorus parts where Randy really gets into it with the vocals. That’s one of his signatures and something that his fans have come to love over the years.
The song is straightforward in the lyrics. It seems to about a couple that’s got nothing too crazy too do for the night, but they’re looking at chasing down a good time and really enjoying a night together. I think it’s a good song as we head into the later parts of the summer.
It’s kind of that summer love song where people will be listening to this as their summers come to an end and thus the love kind of comes to an end. Then I could see this one peaking in September and October and those people kind of look back fondly at the love that they had.
This one could go either way for him. I’m not sure how to call it on the charts.
