There are a percentage of people out there that have addictive personalities. Those of that kind of lean that way tend to do things just a little past the point of everyone else. It’s hard to explain, but we have to take things just a little bit further an in some cases much further than others even if we know we shouldn’t.
I think that’s what newcomer Chris Janson is singing about in his new song Better I Don’t. This new track is the first single from Chris in about two or three years. He originally had a deal and single out in 2010, but things fell through. Since then he’s been busy writing songs for the likes of Tim McGraw (Truck Yeah).
Now it’s Chris’ time again to hit the charts.
Better I Don’t – Chris Janson
It’s about time we get some rocking country back out there. I like a new artist that isn’t afraid to come out with a fun song to kick off a career. I like a ballad now and then, but sometimes it’s good to just let loose once in a while.
That’s what Chris does on this new song. He rips through the lyrics telling the story about he tends to do things just a little past the point of those around him. He tends to drink a little too much and go a little wild with everything else.
He realizes it’s better he doesn’t do those things in first place. It can lead to some great times, but also to some regret in the morning.
Great song here from a promising new artist. I’m excited to hear more from him especially since he’s a great harmonica player. We need more of that in country music too.
Don’t you think?
