The streak is officially over.
Chris Young had five number one singles in a row, but that ended when Neon left off just outside the top 20. You know what? That song deserved better. It’s a great track, but I guess the mainstream audience just didn’t connect with it. There was always the feeling that the song didn’t have the right sound for country radio, but after seeing Chris talk about the song it’s obvious he was pushing for its release even if he knew it wouldn’t be a huge hit.
There was a point just before the release of the Neon single that Lost would be released and that is a surefire number one that’s still left on the record. But Chris is moving forward and the next single is another good one. Check it out. I think Chris is heading back to the top spot on the chart.
I Can Take It From There – Chris Young
You hate to say that certain artists have their own styles because all of these folks can do different things, but Chris Young certainly has a flair for the fun romantic songs. That’s what this track is and I think it’s another huge hit for Chris.
The song is uptempo and really gets you into the mood for singing along. It’s about a guy that is ready to kick back and spend time with the girl he loves. They are in store for a night of fun and romance. It seems like a great time.
Chris is one of the guys keeping things traditional in country today. He’s one of the best out there and it’s great to see him getting back on track with this single. I think it’s going to bring him right back to the top. I applaud the release of Neon and I don’t think it will really slow him down one bit.
It’s back to the top with this new song.
Don’t you think?
