Florida Georgia Line has a fine line to walk with their career. They’ve become extremely popular as the small town party country rockers. You could probably argue that they’re the leaders in the Bro Country movement.
And I don’t think there is any reason to feel bad about that. They’re singing about what life is like for them and they’ve connected with a huge audience.
So they’re always going to have songs like Anything Goes, Sun Daze and Cruise. And that’s cool. Those songs are catchy and fun to sing along with. I know some country fans get sick of that after a while, but that’s fine too.
The thing that seems to really give these guys a shot at a long-term career is their ability to change with songs like Dirt and this new one.
Confession – Florida Georgia Line
I thought this performance really stood out at the CMAs last week. It was pretty stripped back especially for a Florida Georgia Line performance. The vocals and the lyrics took front stage and it really made an impact.
The guys are still singing about how they experience life, but there is some real meaning and introspection on this track. And it’s still just as catchy as all their well-known songs.
I really like this song. It’s about a person taking some time away with themselves. They have time to think about life and maybe realign some things. It’s easy to get swept up in what’s going on and sometimes we really need to look back a little and assess what our goals are for the future.
Really great song from the guys. I hope it’s released as a single. I don’t know if that’s the case, but after their performance last week it looks like there’s a good chance.
