Down By The River by D. Vincent Williams
Most people might be surprised to know that many of their favorite country artists actually started out as songwriters before hitting it big as singers. Luke Bryan is a recent example that comes to mind. He co-wrote Good Directions for Billy Currington before breaking out as a mega-star himself.
Now we get to know another up and coming singer, D. Vincent Williams. He’s been writing songs and has written hits before including Just Got Started Lovin’ You. Now he’s ready for his own success. Check out his new single.
Down By The River – D. Vincent Williams
It’s catchy. There really isn’t much like this on the radio right now. There is a little bluegrass in there. It kind of reminds me of Ricky Skaggs a little bit. I think it’s the voice more than the music and sound, but it’s cool. There is also a little Zac Brown in there, which I really like.
This is my first taste of D. Vincent Williams and I have to say it’s a great song. He’s not your traditional country artist, but I think there has always been a little bit of uniqueness with country artists throughout its history. There have always been artists out there pushing the limits just a little bit and if the melody is good and the song is catchy people will pay attention.
I’m curious to see how many people like Down By The River because it’s a great song. It’s something I would play over and over.
What do you think?
