My girlfriend likes to watch The Voice. I’m not really a fan of the singing competitions. I have watched in the past, but mostly I just don’t like what I hear.
A few weeks ago, though, I was watching The Voice with my girlfriend. I went upstairs to brush my teeth (Yes. I go to bed early…). I came down with the toothbrush still in my mouth full of toothpaste and heard this voice.
I said to my girlfriend, “She is going to win the show.”
Here is that performance…
Maybe It Was Memphis – Danielle Bradbery
Let me backup and minute and explain that I’m not some kind of genius musical ear.
Anybody that hears this performance will know that Danielle is already the best voice in country music right now.
That’s a big statement and I don’t take saying it lightly.
I’ve felt this way about a few female country singers.
Pam Tillis, Patty Loveless, LeAnn Rimes and Carrie Underwood come to mind immediately. Let’s put Martina in there as well.
Danielle has the purest voice I’ve heard in a long time. There was no doubt in my mind that she was the best on the show. Not only did she have the best voice, but she could perform too and people loved her.
It helped that she chose one of the classic country songs of the last 20 years.
I thought it would be tough to sing it as good as Pam, but Danielle knocked it out of the park.
This is actually an album I’m anticipating having to purchase the day it comes out.
Danielle Bradberry should become a country star.
This was her debut moment. It was the same kind of moment as this…
Independence Day – Carrie Underwood
