Darius Rucker is set to release his follow up single and album to his successful country debut Learn to Live.

The new single is Come Back Song.

At first glance, the title of the new track would appear to make more sense as the lead off single for Darius’ debut country record. After many years of success with the pop/rock group Hootie & The Blowfish Darius took a shot at country music. His debut album yielded 4 hit singles including 3 straight #1 hits. The album has sold well over 1 million copies since its release in 2008.

Darius is back in a big way in the music industry. He may have switched genres, but he’s back on big tours and having hit records just like he did in the ’90s and ’00s with the guys in Hootie.

So while Come Back Song may appear to be a bit confusing on the surface, after one listen to the song you’ll understand.

Darius told CMT in Darius Rucker Sings Groovy Come Back Song:

“It’s a little country tune that I wrote with Chris Stapleton, who’s got that R&B groove to his writing, and Casey Beathard. It’s one of those groovy little tunes about that guy who really messed up, you know? And he knows it.”

It’s a great song that has a similar feel to Darius’ first record. No surprises here and it sounds like another hit for radio.
