AOL New Country First is my place to go for new music.
One of the songs I’ve been hearing for weeks is Hard Time Movin’ On by David Bradley. I’m not sure why I haven’t written about the song before this point. There was always something that stood out when it came on through the speakers.
The Englishman Bradley has a unique voice for country music. The background music is surely country, but there is something interesting in the vocals. I can’t quite pin down what it is but my hunch is the hint…just a hint…of that English accent are coming through.
It kind of reminds me actually of how Keith Urban’s Australian accent makes him sound unique on radio. Bradley’s isn’t as defined as Urban’s, but there is definitely a little extra something behind the lyrics.
Hard Time Movin’ On is about the topic you’d expect. A guy can’t get over his recent breakup. He still gets the urge to call his ex and can’t stop thinking about her. He dreams about her. He thinks about her all day. He doesn’t want to just be friends.
If you’ve ever been in the situation where someone didn’t share the same feelings you do then you can relate to the store in Hard Time Movin’ On. It can be difficult to think you have to start all over and find someone new. It’s tough.
The song is good and the vocals are interesting. Add country star Rodney Crowell on the background vocals and this track could have enough good ingredients to become a hit.
What do you think of the song?
