Here is a new song that was sent my way. I like checking out new songs from independent country artists. It’s a pretty cool time in the world where you can really release music with some ease. That doesn’t mean that’s it’s easy to build an audience and get noticed, though. That takes good music and good style.
I think Joel Wayne might be onto something with his music. The first song we’re checking out is his new single, Dirt Rich. It’s got a familiar sound while also sounding like it’s something a little different than what you’re used to with standard country music.
Let’s have a listen.
Dirt Rich – Joel Wayne
It’s kind of Florida Georgia Line with a little Brantley Gilbert. But I don’t want to make too many comparisons because this one has it’s own style and attitude as well. Those comparisons give you just a little insight into this one. It’s got that Southern style and discussion about life going on, but I’ll you what – I live up in Wisconsin and this song fits in just as well up here.
The song seems to be about the life that country folks live (and love) today. You might not have money for all the crazy things you could get in life, but you have enough. You don’t owe nobody nothing and you’re set with some good friends and people that you like spending time with.
One more quick comparison here might be Big Smo, who I’m a fan of. This song from Joel Wayne is a good one. It’s something a little different and I like that.
What do you think?
