It’s probably no secret I’m an Easton Corbin fan.
The kid with the voice straight out of the early ’90s is a welcome addition to the strong crew of young country artists arriving on the scene these days. With a traditional country voice and a humble demeanor Easton Corbin could be on the cusp of a huge country music career.
Easton’s third single is rising on the country charts and it’s a little early to jump the gun on the fourth single, but I can’t help myself. I’ve listened to his debut album through and through and had to writing about what I think would make a great single.
Leavin’ A Lonely Town would make a great country radio hit. The song is about a kid ready to leave his little town and head off into the big world. There seem to be those kids with big dreams and big ambitions. They often prepare to leave their lonely town as soon as they graduate high school. They’re ready to go off and become Hollywood stars, CEOs or perhaps even country singers.
When I was growing up I had plans to get out of town. I never left my home state, but I made it a few hours away from home. I don’t make it back much to that little old lonely town of mine. There were plenty of good times had there with best friends and of course a few girls. The people were nice and the football field was always packed on Friday night.
Those lonely towns are special places and even though some of us need to get away for the bright lights and big dreams there is always reason to go back once in a while.
Easton Corbin could probably release any track on his album and have it be a hit. I think Leavin’ A Lonely Town would make a great fourth single though.
