George Strait is still the man. The title track from his latest album, Cold Beer Conversation, was a great one. It didn’t make it up as high on the chart as I thought it would, but it had a pretty good run.
We’re kind of waiting on the next single from that record to come out. I don’t know that this one will be the single, but it’s been getting some good play on Spotify and I really like it as well. I think if this one came out it would have a chance at the top spot.
Everything I See – George Strait
For the last few albums George has been doing a lot of writing with his son, Bubba. They have been creating some of the best songs of George’s career and that’s really saying something…obviously. On a side note – I wonder if we’ll ever hear Bubba singing on the radio?
This is one that Bubba and George wrote together. It seems to be from George’s point of view. It’s a song for his father who’s been gone for some time. George is going back to where he grew up and he’s getting visuals of all the memories he has of his father and all those good times from those days gone by.
There’s a little note about a great grandson and it seems that would be Buba’s son and George’s grandson.
So it’s a little sad that way. Life kind of works in wonderful ways, but also in sad ways. Not many people get to see their great grandchildren. It’s just the way life goes, but we can still look back fondly on the ones we’ve loved.
This is a really good one.
