So it’s been a few years now since Sugarland released new music as a duo. They had a big time run of success starting back in 2004. They kind of came out of nowhere and almost overnight became big time headliners in Nashville.
They had a fresh sound and people loved it. I’m sure we’ll hear from the duo again, but until that day comes we’re getting new music from both artists.
So far it’s been Kristian Bush with the hit on the radio. I don’t know if his second single has stalled, but there has been another song on his debut that’s been getting some good attention. Let’s check it out.
Flip Flops – Kristian Bush
It’s another catchy song from Kristian. The man knows how to find things that are really catchy. And he wrote all the songs on the record so this one has that Kristian Bush style, which we’re starting to get a feel for especially after Trailer Hitch.
The production is really good on this one. I like the studio version, but there are also a few live versions out there that sound pretty good.
The song seems to be about a guy that is at that point where he’s just trying to get through life. Sounds like there have been some hard times lately. He’s had a rough day and night and he’s just trying to get back home.
I don’t know if this one will be a single. I heard it first on Wild Country on Spotify and it stood out. I like it.
What do you think?
