You can’t imagine a better start to a national career than Florida Georgia Line. It was about a year ago at this time when the guys started seeing some momentum for their debut single, Cruise. I’m sure they spent their entire lives working to make something happen and then things took off like a rocket ship.
The boys have two number one singles under their belts (Cruise is still at the top of the charts). Now it’s time to keep the momentum going and they’ve chosen their next single…Round Here.
Round Here – Florida Georgia Line
I thought Florida Georgia Line’s debut album was a must have for last year. It probably is for this year if you don’t have it already. There are about seven songs on the record that could be singles so there’s no surprise the guys have been riding this wave of success on the charts for the last few months.
Round Here is anther great single. It has number one written all over it. The guys are tapping into the small town life again and they’re adding the trademark FGL flavor to things. It’s a little rock, a little rap and a little country. It’s a winning combination right now.
It’s also worth pointing out that Thomas Rhett had a hand in writing this song.
Count ’em…that makes FIVE current singles on the country charts for Thomas Rhett:
- 1994 – Jason Aldean
- Boys ‘Round Here – Blake Shelton (see update below)
- Parking Lot Party – Lee Brice
- Round Here – Florida Georgia Line
- It Goes Like This – Thomas Rhett
The guy is going to win Songwriter of the Year for 2013. How could he not?
Chart Estimate: #1
CML Points: 85/100
Update: Boys ‘Round Here was written by Rhett Akins and not by his son, Thomas Rhett (Akins).
