Earlier this year in the spring I saw that Margo Price had a new album on the chart. I hadn’t heard of her before. I don’t think I had her any of her songs on the radio so I kind of took notice when she showed up on the Billboard Country Albums charts. That’s a big deal.
We looked at one of her songs and it did really well on the CML Chart. Since that time it seems that Margo has been slowly building a following for herself in the country world. This next song has been included on some of the big playlists on Spotify.
It’s a good one.
Four Years Of Chances – Margo Price
How catchy is this song? Margo has a rally cool style. It’s definitely got some traditional country influence. She reminds me a bit of Tammy Wynette and Loretta Lynn. She has that kind of sassy style especially on this one.
I can’t really think of country artists today that sound like this although it’s a pretty great time for female country artists. After some time where women weren’t really getting respect with radio it seems like things are shifting back to some kind of balance.
It would be cool to have this song on the radio. It’s about a woman that’s fed up with the guy that she’s been with for over four years now. He’s had all the chances in the world to change and grow up, but now the waiting is over. Time to move on.
I really like this one.
