LeAnn Rimes Borrowed

A little fire from LeAnn Rimes.

LeAnn Rimes is coming off a huge performance on the ACA’s earlier this week.

Her tribute to Patsy Cline was another one for the highlight reels of award shows.

LeAnn has been through a lot the last few years. Some of it her doing and some of it not her doing.

Even through all the BS she’s remained one of the best female singers in country music today and during any generation. It’s always good for country when she puts out new music.

Here is her latest single featuring rocker Rob Thomas.

Gasoline And Matches – LeAnn Rimes

This is a fun song. I remember hearing it when LeAnn first put out this record. I wasn’t sure if it was one of the best songs on the record, but the more I hear it the more I like it.

LeAnn has shown over the years that she can do any type of song, but she does really well on these sassy sounding songs. This one is a great example. It’s an uptempo kind of sassy love song about a relationship that is so good, but so combustable.

It’s a great duet, too. You have Rob Thomas from Matchbox Twenty fame filling in for the male part. He brings that rock edge and it works really well with LeAnn’s style.

She’s still the traditional country girl, but her range is wide. She can mix a little rock and country and turn it into a great song like this one.

Chart Estimate: #25

CML Points: 84/100
