Eric Church is back with another cool sounding single.
Check this one out.
Give Back My Hometown – Eric Church
Listen: Give Me Back My Hometown
I wasn’t sure what this song would be about when I first ready the title and it kind of threw me for one when I listened to the lyrics. I had to listen to it a few times to figure it out.
The song is about a guy that’s had his heart broken by a girl. He’s having a tough time dealing with it. The toughest part of the breakup is that he can’t even walk around his own hometown without feeling the pain. Every place he drives by was their place or their spot.
This is a really interesting way to look at the effects of a breakup. Even after things are over and you give each other your stuff back there are still things you can’t really give or take back. One of them is the memories you have. Those will likely always be there. Time can remove some of them, but remnants always remain.
I’m sure if you’ve ever gone through a breakup you know what it’s like. One person can find a way to hang out with the same friends in the same places, but the other has to find a new way to live life with different friends and at different spots.
This is a really great song and the more I listen the more I like it.
