Introducing Granger Smith.
I feel like an idiot when I write about artists and songs like this. Granger Smith is a brand new artist (to me). Red Dirt is the first song I’ve listened to of his and it’s fantastic. Check it out before I get started on the review…
Red Dirt – Granger Smith
There is nothing else to say really. Red Dirt is the song of summer love. There is a young couple in the song that’s finding love with each other. They are happy and content out in the country, but there is something pulls them away when the summer is over.
There have been plenty of summer songs, but this one has something unique and fresh. I think it’s the tempo and pacing of the song. It’s not slow. It’s not fast. There is something that just kind of lulls you through the entire song. It’s a good lull, though. Red Dirt is pleasant to the ear. I’ve been playing it over and over and usually I don’t do that with most songs that I review here on CML.
It appears Granger has been around for a while. His video channel is full of releases. It’s for this reason that I feel like an idiot because I like to think I know about all the latest country songs, but here we have an artist that I had no idea existing.
I’m glad I was able to have someone point his music out to me, though. Granger has a great voice. He’s perfect for country music and I hope more people can discover him as a result of CML.
Red Dirt isn’t the latest offering from Granger (stay tuned tomorrow), but the song is still new and worth looking at. I had to go back and look through Granger’s hits. This one is certainly a hit even if it’s not the latest.
Red Dirt is a great country song.
What are your thoughts on the song and on Granger?
