Here again we have some folk country music coming at you. The first thing I like about this song is that you can understand all the words. I really like that in a song. It’s simple and we take it for granted, but it’s one thing that really separates the professionals from those that want to make it.
Anyway, here is a new song from Humming House. It’s my first time hearing them, but let me know if you’re familiar.
Great Divide – Humming House
It seems like this song is about someone or a group of people trying to discover their place in the world. When you’re young or even through your entire life you can feel this way. You kind of feel lost. You don’t fit in with the rest of the world and you have to figure out the things you like. You have to figure out the things you love doing in life.
That’s a frustrating place to be because the whole point of life is to enjoy it and have someone to share that enjoyment with, but we don’t all get there it seems. We can get lost and distracted on the way or we can just amble along looking for our purpose.
That’s probably reading too much into this song. Other than that it’s pretty catchy and a good song. I wouldn’t put it in the bluegrass world, but it’s certainly uptempo and moving right along. It’s right there with the folk country movement that people are digging right now.
