The Price I Pay by Haley & Michaels

Haley and Michaels

This new song sounds like AC Radio from the ’90s and that’s a good thing.

Mixed country duos are kind of becoming something of a thing in country music. You have Thompson Square and before that there were a couple of others. There are also mixed bands like Lady Antebellum, The Band Perry Gloriana and a few others.

So people are liking the sounds of female and male mixed together.

If you like that sound then you’re going to like this new single from the duo Haley & Michaels. Give this one a listen and see what you think.

The Price I Pay – Haley & Michaels

Haley & Michaels have been receiving attention for a cover video they made for the Hunter Hayes singleĀ Wanted. Now they’re looking to make some noise for an original song of theirs. It’s the first single they have out with an album due out later this year.

The song seems to be about the two people struggling with their feelings for each other. Something had to have happened with them. I think they’re struggling with getting over each other. For some reason they had a fight and went their separate ways, but they both still want to get back together.

This is a good song. It has that modern country sound. It actually reminds me a little bit of the Adult Contemporary music from the ’90s and I think that’s a good things.

Interesting music always happens at the intersection of genres and this has been a new sound in country for the last year or so.

What do you think of the song?

Is it going to be a hit?

Chart Estimate: #35

CML Points: 80/100
