I really need to get back to watching Nashville. I keep hearing good things, but I haven’t watched for over a couple years now. I liked it when I did watch especially for the music. And it sounds like the music is only getting better.
Here is one of the latest songs from one of the stars. It’s He Ain’t Me by Charles Esten.
He Ain’t Me – Charles Esten
I like this one. It’s always fun to hear an upbeat country song once in a while. This time it’s about a guy whose woman has left him for some new guy. She thinks she’s found the one this time, but the narrator feels like knows her and he knows that she’ll never be happy unless it’s with him.
Maybe that’s a little extreme. Maybe the narrator is simply in a little denial about screwing things up and he’s trying to make himself feel a little better.
It’s always a long process to figure out that maybe it was you when things don’t work out. You wish it was the other person and something they did wrong, but if you look in the mirror maybe it’s likely you that screwed things up.
Either way this is a fun country song that has a feel like a classic country song. It’s uptempo and you really don’t hear country like this much anymore. It’s throwback and I like it. It’s almost too country for country these days.
What do you think?
