It’s time to head out to the CMT Edge once again. I love checking out this site every once in a while. You’ll really find music that you won’t hear anywhere else and it’s usually really good music. This time we’re checking in with a fun song from Kent Goolsby. I haven’t heard of him before, but I’m loving his song. Check it out.
Hitched – Kent Goolsby
There’s a little Harry Connick Jr. and a little Lyle Lovett in this voice. I really like it. The style is different. It sounds like something old school in country, but there is also a little modern influence in the track. It just really comes together as something fresh and cool.
From what I can hear the song is about two people that are getting hitched. It seems like the song is upbeat and positive, but you never know unless you really dig into those lyrics. Artists will sometimes try to trick you with those things. But in this case I think it’s about the positive side of marriage. At least that’s my interpretation.
You know one things that’s really missing from modern country music? Background singers. This song features some and I think it really works well. We used to have more of that in country music and it really added depth to the songs. I think it adds depth on this one, but the song still comes out as the main focus.
Another great song from CMT Edge. I hope you liked it.
