Do you ever hear a country song that makes you feel like you need to change your life? Or maybe not change your life. That seems kind of strong, but a few country songs make you feel like you need to think about changing one aspect of your life. I think this song would fit in that category. Lori McKenna says it’s about her kids and I think that’s very apt, but there is something we could all take from it.
Humble And Kind – Lori McKenna
There are some really great lyrics in this song. I love the one that says that I Love You ain’t no pickup line. I just love that. I’m not even entirely sure what it means, but to me it says that love is about more than picking someone up. It’s about investing your emotions into someone.
I love these Opry performances. It’s one of my favorite YouTube channels. I think you get so much from the live performance. I love the studio versions of songs, but there is something pretty cool about the live version. And on this song you really feel the emotion coming through and you can also see Lori up there like she’s speaking right to her children or even speaking right to you.
This is an example of what country music has always been and still can be. It’s about the love we have for each other and it’s about passing on knowledge to the next generation. I think this is a great song and a great performance by Lori McKenna.
