Now here is some country music. I can get on board with this.
Don’t get me wrong, I love all kinds of country music, but sometimes I need a little throwback country. And that’s what I feel like when I listen to this one from Rachael Turner.
If you like traditional country that’s been slowed down then you’ll like this one.
Give it a listen and see what you think.
I Don’t Love You – Rachael Turner
This is the story of a girl that’s trying to get over a guy. It seems like they broke up. It’s a little vague on how that happened, but that’s okay. We get a glimpse into how the girl is feeling and that is that she’s not over it…not yet.
There is usually denial that goes on in those situations. It’s not always completely 50/50 when a breakup happens. Usually one person calls it quits and the other might be taken off guard. Even if they see it coming and know that it wasn’t a good situation it can put a hurt on your soul.
The realization is there that you need to move on. That’s where the angle of this song comes in. The girl is trying her best to get over the guy and the relationship. She’s telling herself that she doesn’t love him anymore. She’s doing all she can, but she still comes back to the same feelings that she really does care for him.
It’s an emotional song and really well performed. I like it a lot. I think it’s certainly a sad country song, but we need those once in a while.
