This is really cool. I had very little background on the story behind this artist and song. So I’m first going to go into the song without looking into the background.
This is a new one from Electra Mustaine. After listening to the song one time through I have to say that it’s really good. It seems like it has some country influences while also having influences in other genres, which I always think is pretty cool.
Give it a listen and see what you think.
I Thought I Knew It All – Electra Mustaine
The first thing that stands out to me is the performance and production. It’s really pulled back and the focus is heavily on the emotion and vocals. You can feel that this person is thinking deeply about something that’s happened.
The lyrics seem vague. Something has happened that has shaken this person’s life. They thought things would work out one way and now it’s not working out and it’s reshaping their outlook on life. We don’t always understand why something is happening, but we trust that we’ll be able to adapt.
Really cool song. This is the first time I’ve heard it.
But it’s not the first time this song has been in the public. In fact, it was first released in 1994 by the metal band, Megadeth. Electra is the daughter of band member Dave Mustaine.
I think that’s a really cool background for the song. Turning a metal song into a country song is another way to show that a good song can succeed in many different ways.
I really like this one. I hope it does well.
