Bucky Covington has had an interesting career up to this point.

After a hugely successful debut album Bucky kind of got lost in the shuffle. Singles floundered and his label closed. Now, Bucky is back with a new record label and a new single. It sounds like things are back on track. Check out I Wanna Be That Feeling…

I Wanna Be That Feeling – Bucky Covington

It’s been a strange career for Bucky Covington thus far.

His debut album was a smash hit. He had top singles on the charts and the album sold nearly 500,000 copies. That’s a huge debut for any artist and it looked like Bucky was on his way to building a strong career. He seemed like he had what it takes to become a solid artist and his song choice was great.

Then after the first album things got interesting. There was a string of singles released that did just so-so. Then in 2010 after a top 25 single was climbing the charts and really going strong, Lyric Street closed its doors and Bucky was lost in the shuffle. He was left without a deal and out floundering.

Now, Bucky is back on his feet. He has a new record deal and a new single. From the early sounds of I Wanna Be That Feeling I’d say Bucky Covington is back on track.

I Wanna Be That Feeling is about a guy that’s trying to convince a woman he’s the one for her. She’s happy with him and she’s having a great time. He wants to be the feeling of having a good time. He wants to be the good feeling she has in life. He wants to be all the good things in her life and be the one to be with her forever.

I Wanna Be That Feeling is a great track. Bucky’s voice is right there once again. He just has this country sound that is unique from anyone else out on the radio right now. It would be easy to hear this song in the top 20 on the radio in a couple months. Bucky is with a smaller label now and that will work against him just a bit. I can see the single entering the charts and climbing slow, but eventually becoming another top 20 hit.

Bucky has had his ups and downs throughout his short career, but he always comes back to focusing on solid songs and he’s found another one with I Wanna Be That Feeling. It’s a fun song about life and love and enjoying all the good things that can happen. It’s a great song that belongs on the charts.

Best of luck in 2012 Bucky. You should be right back on your way to becoming a start and I’m glad fans will finally get to see your second album come to life. It’s been too long since your debut came out and won over the hearts of country fans.
