It looks like I’m late to the party on the country band John and Jacob. And I’m not even entirely sure if they’re fully in the country world, but it does seem like that’s where they’re getting attention.
I think it seems like they’re working on the edge of country and I’m always a fan of what’s going on in the edges. That’s where some cool stuff can really happen. And tomorrow’s big thing could even come from the edge and turn into mainstream.
So that’s why we’re checking out the new song from John and Jacob.
I’d Go Back – John and Jacob
It’s definitely something a little different, but I don’t think it’s crazy different. There are elements of the kind of folk-pop music that has been gaining popularity in the mainstream music world the last few years.
And there are certainly some country elements including the story. It’s someone that’s looking back on a relationship that went wrong somewhere along the way. The narrator seems to have a moment (or moments) of clarity now and wishes they could go back and fix things and do them differently.
Who hasn’t felt like that about something including a relationship?
We all screw up on things and one of the feelings that’s normal is feeling like if only you would have done something, just one thing differently that it would have worked out. You feel like that thing should have happened and it’s hard to move on.
Pretty cool song from this band. They have a unique style and sound. It’s catchy and this one in particular touches on a strong emotion.
I think it has a chance to do well, but I’d be curious to hear your thoughts.
