Jaron is still going.
After a successful debut in 2009 and 2010 with Pray For You Jaron and the Long Road to Love (Lowenstein is a weird country name I guess) is back with a few new songs.
It’s 2011 and for some reason Jaron has left his major record label. Now he’s working with an indy division yet he’s still releasing good music.
In fact, I always though Pray For You was a bit too out there for me. Now as Jaron releases more music I’m liking what he’s doing more and more. Check out one of Jaron’s recent singles and see what you think.
Listen to It’s A Good Thing Jaron and the Long Road to Love…
It’s a Good Thing – Jaron
I like the sound of this song. It’s pop-country through and through, but it’s a nice change of pace from what I usually listen to. With this song Jaron completely changed my opinion of him. He was the quirky guy up to this point, but now his talent is coming through both as a songwriter and performer.
It’s A Good Thing is about a guy that’s been burned and tortured in past loves. He never found something that worked. Every women he’d been with had in some way hurt him. He was sure he wouldn’t let himself fall for love again. When you get hurt so many times it’s human nature to try and avoid that pain.
But now there is a new woman and she’s changing the narrator’s outlook. And you know what? It’s a good thing. The narrator can tell this time it might work out for him. This could be his one chance.
And while human nature tells us to avoid pain and find happiness there is still the part in all of us that wants and needs love. We need that connection even if it comes with the risk of pain.
What gets me with this song is the chorus. It’s catchy. I find myself singing along with it each time I listen. Jaron puts emotion and passion into the chorus. It’s a complete reversal from Pray For You.
I’m not sure if Jaron will get recognized for this song. He may be always remembered as the Pray For You guy, but he’s more than that. I was wrong to judge him on that first song.
Jaron could be the new Piano Man in country music. I don’t think Phil Vassar is going anywhere, but Jaron is giving him a run for his money. There is talent with Jaron and I’d say he might be back on the charts someday. There is another new song kicking around the radio – a duet with Big Kenny.
Jaron pulled off a surprise hit the first time around.
Who says he can’t do it again?
