Jason Aldean walked out onto the stage at 10pm local time in Eau Claire, WI this past Thursday. The crowd was treated to a show full of rocking hits including favorites like She’s Country, Johnny Cash, and Big Green Tractor.
Fans were up on their seats for the entire hour and half show. There was plenty of singing and dancing going on throughout the sea of people. Despite some hard rain earlier in the day that lead to mud and slippery conditions, fans stuck it out to hear Jason rock the stage.
Jason’s latest album Wide Open has been a huge hit over the past two years and the success of the album and its singles have turned Jason into a superstar. After fighting for years to just get an independent deal with the upstart Broken Bow Records, Jason is now seeing the hard work and belief payoff…in a big way.
Jason Aldean defied all the odds and gets to tell his detractors that he’s more than just another guy singer in a hat. Aldean has turned a knack for picking hit songs into a solid star career as a country singer. He seems comfortable singing in the dark at a big Wisconsin country festival and that’s a good sign that he’s looking for longevity.
Some highlights of the show included Aldean’s cover versions of Bryan Adams’ Heaven and Cuts Like A Knife. The rocker and the country star performed each others’ songs a few months back on CMT Crossroads. Heaven turned out to be a surprise hit at radio and fans kept calling in to request the tune.
Fans were eagerly waiting for their favorite hit of the night to be played. Aldean came back out after a short encore and played the crowd favorite Big Green Tractor as a huge John Deere lit up next to the stage. A local dealer had sponsored the evening’s performances – a great marketing plan since everyone in the crowd was rocking JD Green apparel.
It was a quite a show and the crowd got their money’s worth. There is no doubt Jason Aldean is a superstar and plenty capably of headlining for many years to come…
