This is some rodeo country.

Down Goes The Cowboy – Joshua Dorr
That’s some cowboy country.
It’s a little weird. The song catches you off guard a little bit. Joshua doesn’t look like a cowboy on the surface. He has the look, but that hat is sitting in the background as opposed to on his head. I think that’s what throws me. I wasn’t expected this song to come out of his mouth at all.
It’s a pleasant surprise, though. I love cowboy music about the rodeo. I’ve never even been part of a rodeo unless you count the time I chased the calf with a ribbon on its tail out in Cody, Wyoming when I was just a kid.
Down Goes The Cowboy is about a rodeo guy. He keeps trying to be the best in the show. He rides the animals even though they keep bucking him just about every time. Everyone says he’s crazy. Everyone says he lives life too far over the edge. He keeps going down, but he always gets back up.
This is the kind of song guys can really relate to. It doesn’t matter what field you’re in or what you’re doing – life will always shoot you down. That’s a given. The important part is to keep taking chances and keep getting back up to try again no matter how many times you go down.
Keep getting back up.
It’s the cowboy way and Joshua Dorr knows that. This is a great song and a great introduction to a new artist. I like it.
